Director: Ask Hasselbalch
Ask was born and grew up in Frederksberg, and graduadet from Aurehøj Amtsgymnasium high school. Since then he has directed several short films, commercials and music videos, only interrupted by a year at the European Film School i 2001-2002. In addition to his education at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts he has worked for Short and Documentary Film School, DR Young - Satire as well as for Nordisk Film. He won Best Film at the Cosmic Zoom film festival in 2002 with the suspense film "Soul Ripper" which was also selected to Odense Film Festival in 2003. Ask has a particulary interests for genre films as well as american movies from the 1980'ies.

 

 

Producer Thomas Yong

Producer: Thomas Yong

Thomas Yong was born in Seoul, but raised in Denmark. After earning his graduate degree in International Business at Copenhagen Business School, Thomas moved to New York City where he founded Shouting Cow Productions, LLC, - an independent film and TV production company. With Shouting Cow, Thomas produced the short film BASIC EMOTIONS which premiered at Los Angeles International Short Film Festival 2004.

 

In 2003 Thomas associate produced Jae Song's short film HOPSCOTCH based on a novel by Julio Cortazár. HOPSCOTCH premiered at Hamptons International Film Festival in 2004. Thomas also associate produced Justin Mitchell’s THE GOOD LIFE and Georgia Lee’s latest short film DIAGNOSIS.

 

In 2003 Thomas produced COLOR OF A DOUBT: AN URBAN FABLE directed by Pornsak Pichetshote and Jason Garrett Lewis, and in 2006 Thomas produced THE WILLIAMSBURGERS, a TV pilot, directed by Tony Leonardo. When Thomas returned to Denmark he worked on several TV and film productions, latest as a producer on the short film A CHILD.

Thomas biggest achievement was when he produced the feature-length film TIE A YELLOW RIBBON directed by Joy Dietrich. TIE A YELLOW RIBBON has been nominated for Best Film at over 8 film festivals, and won the Special Jury Prize for Best Director at CineVegas Film Festival 2007, and won Best Narrative Feature Film at Urbanworld Film Festival 2007 in New York.

 

 

Screenwriter: Sonny Lahey
Sonny began working in film during a stay in Vancouver, Canada. Since then he has attended the European Film School in Ebeltoft and is studying film and media science at Copenhagen University. He also works as a freelance director at Sun Studio where he directs Danish voices for cartoons in addition to do voice work himself for films, commercials and computer games. He has previously worked as a producer assistant for Nimbus Film and Review Post Production as well as at theaters like Mungo Park and Plan B. Further, he has written articles and film reviews for magaines like Romeo & Juliet. He has produced the short film "At the Top" which he also wrote with the film's director.
